Did you think that the Steelers gave opposing wr's less of a cushion after the Pats game last season? I thought I noticed us playing our CB's closer to the LOS as the season went on. Hopefully we do that this year as well.
I understand the fear of getting beat deep but with teams focusing on getting the ball out so quickly to neutralize Harrison/Woodley I would think we could be more aggressive.
I don't think we have any answers for NE. They're just an awful matchup for us. They love the fact that we have 4 LBs on the field. Pressing our DBs or giving the cushion doesnt change anything for them either. Slants, quick passes, 5WRs, they pick our d apart and throw the ball before the blitz can get to them. Curious to see what happens next time we play them.
Probably the exact same thing that happened last time, and most times we play them: we lose. The only chance we have against the Pats is to outscore them and by doing that, keep their offense off of the field. More than any other offense, Brady and the Pats seem to be LeBeau's Achilles heel; he has no answer for them and really never has (the game against Cassel doesn't count
