In this situation Jon photo evidence is accurate proof because in picture 2 on this page it is clear that Santonio Holmes has the ball, it's a catch, and both feet are in bounds. He made a great play. I'm still mad they lost but the better team won that day.

I’m a Steelers fan, so you know I’m not relishing it when I say this, but Wes Welker’s snow angel was the best TD celebration ever, and there isn’t even a close second.

Their Johnnie-come-lately bandwagon fans, on the other hand…fire away.

Bad calls and non-calls went both ways. And most of the late game penalties (when it really counts) went against the Steelers. I don’t think Ben’s knee ever touched the turf on the overturned TD. You could see his leg’s freakin’ shadow under it the entire time.

Champions adapt and overcome (us), losers go home and whine and make excuses (them). Hooray for us. LOL at them.

Whining about refs is “loser’s limp”.

Please do not continue this trend of calling the Steelers the “Yankees of the NFL.” The Chief just did 3 backflips in his mausoleum.

First, fans should always recognize that multiple factors/plays explain a win or loss, and they should always give priority to what their team could control (plays they did or did not make) over officiating concerns. It’s the difference between officiating being ten minutes of an hour-long discussion and it being 50 minutes.

Second, it matters what the alleged officiating blunder was. An obvious blown call with major implications is a more legitimate subject of post-game complaint than a close call that is either (a) clearly correct upon close review or (b) inconclusive. And it becomes even more ridiculous to worry about a close call that would have had minimal impact on the game.

I believe Steelers fans were generally pretty good about qualifying their complaints about what they considered an obvious non-call in the Jax game (among other obvious non-holding-calls in other games) with the observation that it was not the most important factor in the game and that they were more upset about other things. Seahawks fans, and now some Cardinals (or, considering the lack thereof, at least anti-Steelers) fans fail on both measures of proportionality: their focus is almost exclusively on the officiating and the calls they are upset about (except for a couple of minor ones) were not obviously wrong — even worse, most were clearly correct.

p.s. Isn’t there a bit of turf on the tip of the right cleat in the first photo above? If so, doesn’t that prove that the right toe had just been touching the ground? The tip of the right cleat is clearly not visible in the last photo (because it is striking the turf), so the top photo was clearly taken a split second after the toe came up.

But I must say that in the reverse scenario, I think Steeler fans would be upset with the outcome of the game. Just my opinion.

Blaming the refs is the lowest form of complaining.

And to Ryan, yes,Steelers fans did complain last year but we didn’t explode the internet with article after article about the Jags game and the media sure didn’t say anything.

I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic in this line or not, but yes, there was a large population of fans complaining for a number of weeks about the holding that wasn’t called on Garrard’s run.

All fanbases have a subsection of fans who whine. You can’t avoid it. Some fanbases have a bigger group than others, but no fanbases are completely devoid of whiners.
