Various new sites are reporting that Sean Taylor has been shot and is currently in extremely critical condition. There are many conflicting reports, but as best we can sum up:
- Taylor was shot at his Miami home during what seems was a burglary attempt.
- Taylor was shot in the leg. Reports also mention he was shot twice
- Taylor has been reported in extremely critical condition. Some reports say he was shot in femoral artery. This is a major artery and any puncture can be life-threatening. Profootballtalk.com reports that Taylor is “fighting for his life”
We will update you with more information as we receive it. Everyone at PGH’s thoughts and prayers go out to Taylor and his family and we hope and pray for a full recovery.
Update: (12:11pm): The Redskins Insider reports that according to a friend of the family the bullet landed near the femoral artery, and that Taylor’s family believes that his condition is stabilizing. We hope for the best.

ESPN.com says shot in the groin.
Kenny’s not joking. This is a direct quote from what ESPN says:
“Taylor was shot in the groin at his Florida home early Monday morning, the Associated Press reports. According to a statement released by the Redskins, he is undergoing treatment at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida and the Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating the incident.
Spin: More on the status of Taylor, who had been nursing a knee injury, as we know it.”
I guess this is the new thing, athletes getting robbed at home, Antoine Walker, Eddy Curry, and now this.
A big fat poo-poo to the Washington Post for crapping all over Sean Taylor in the last few paragraphs of their blurb about the incident:

I disagree, why paint a rosy picture just tell facts about who he is.
Paint a rosy picture? Mofo got SHOT! How is that a rosy picture?
And what do the other incidents have to do with this? Nothing. In court, you’re not allowed to bring up a defendant’s past like this for the very reason that it taints the facts.
It’s almost like they’re saying, “yeah, he got shot, but you know what? He spit on that one dude, so it kinda makes it alright.”
Shally, who posts on here and on other sites and has decades of experience in the medical field, said Jackson Memorial is one of the best trauma centers around. Thank God he’s there, and I’ll be praying for him to pull through.
Biggie – That only makes sense. You don’t get medevaced to a nubbins trauma center.
Pop quiz. What city has best shock trauma center in the country and one of the best in the world?
Answer: Baltimore. The city’s a friggin’ battle ground.
All I am saying i-Maque is that if Sean the bus driver gets shot and he has a history of problems at work and away from the bus, they might mention it in the article if they have that info. I feel for Taylor, but they are just reporting on who he is. I hope like anyone he pulls through. I dont know him, so I dont judge him. The only thing that bugs me about this violence (like Darrent Williams) is that again it involves a young black man. There are a million social reasons to explain this, but Taylor is a rich affluent individual, just like say…Adam Archuleta, but you know what, we arent gonna turn on the news and see he got shot. It’s sad that this story doesnt even surprise me.
You’re sounding like Michael Wilbon. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
But if you want to paint a picture of the man, then go ahead and paint a picture of the man. Don’t just mention the few blemishes on his record. How about his charity work, for example?
Or the fact that he has an infant to care for?

Such a fucking waste.
RIP, Sean. We will miss you.
