Hey Dagger, what do you think of all these 3ry deals the Steelers are handing out? 3yrs for your 3rd round pick? That doesn’t seem like good policy for a team that “builds itself through the draft”.

Yeah, I tend to agree there. Just when the player is coming into their own and looking like they can become a real player in the NFL, you have to reward them with a huge contract or let them walk away. 3 years seems 1 or 2 years short to me. Kind of low risk low reward with these types of deals.
This can be especially bothersome if you are a Steeler fan and your team basically refuses to get involved in Free Agency.
What if Bruce Davis turns out to be “the answer” we’re looking for to generate a pass rush off the edge? We won’t see him get full much playing time until NEXT year perhaps….so you get his services for 1 full season and then BOOM, he’s in a contract year. Timmons is in the same boat.

And this about guys like Hills and Dixon. We wont see anything out of them cause of injury/position and then when they are ready to contribute they are gone.
