Casey Hampton arrives overweight, fails run test, placed on PUP list
By Dagger | July 27, 2008

Steelers Pro Bowl NT Casey Hampton showed up to training camp this afternoon looking out of shape. Judging by his workout program above, I can’t imagine how this could have happened.
After checking into his dorm room Hampton took the field with the rest of the team for the annual “conditioning test” consisting of 8 100-yard sprints. After 5 trips down and back, Hampton could go no more. Head Coach Mike Tomlin responded by placing him on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list until he gets back in shape. Perhaps Casey should actually attend offseason workouts next season.

What a fat ass. But aren’t nose tackles supposed to be that way?
It’s not like they do too much sprinting during the game as plays generally last about 7 seconds or less.

True, True. Aren’t there probably 5 or 6 NT’s in the NFL that are fatter than Hampton is? Don’t the Jags have like 3 of ‘em?
I don’t get the big deal but he should have come to camp more prepared nonetheless. He is a reported 365 lbs
