A scary moment Friday night as STL Cardinal Juan Encarnacion was hit by a foul ball while standing in the on-deck circle.
Aaron Miles fouled off a pitch and it rocketed towards Encarnacion and hit him square in the face. According to the team, Encarnacion will be out for the rest of the season and remains hospitalized after suffering multiple fractures to his left eye socket and a very serious eye injury. Unfortunately, his career may be in jeopardy. Albert Pujols and a few other Cardinal teammates were at Encarnacion’s bedside in the hospital until 3am Saturday morning and were reporting that their injured teammate was in decent spirits.
