Hardy har har… but didn’t Daven Holly get a concussion from the hit?

Yes, he got a concussion.
I think the Ward hit was a bit unnecessaary given the score. HOWEVER…if you look at the clock, the runner (Najeh Davenport) goes down at 3:09 and if you look at Ward celebrating in the last pic, the time is still 3:09. So I dont really know if this was really a “BAD” late hit…just a bit unnecessary.
And Kellen Winslow did the exact same thing to Steelers Safety Ryan Clark (was forced to leave the game for a bit) earlier in the game…I think this was a bit of payback. Happens all the time.

I don’t understand why Hines led with his helmet when the play was over. There is nothing that could have extended and shortened that play. Yet Hines felt it was necessary to hit someone who was done with a done play. Hines pulled a bitch move. A Bitch Move. I hope he does something to prove he attempts to be a man of integrity, on the field, all the time.
I’m not a Steeler/Hines hater or a Browns fan. This is not a hit to celebrate.

Yeah, I’m a bit surprised that Ward can be seen celebrating and raising his arm in the air after the hit.
Ward plays on the edge like that though, he’s always laying DBs out on crackbacks and whatnot.

lol. What does “play on the edge” mean? The edge of cliche`?

He plays on the same edge that Roy Williams, Rodney Harrison, and others do. In the NHL you can find about 6 guys on each team that play on the edge. Kyle Turley, Warren Sapp, and John Lynch all make the NFL list.

It just feels like Hines is out of place. The cats named in that article are either idiots(that can’t cover) or have serious attitude problems. Hines just seemed so professional. You know, above doing unnecessary BS like he just pulled.

It’s like seeing Hines Ward, Ike Turner, OJ Simpson, Jason Kidd, & Randy McMichael all sitting at the same lunch table and wondering,”Is Hines really like those guys?”

I’d put Jeremy Stevens on that list. I love a good nad puncher.

When you ar eplaying at full speed and you see a good block you can make, you just do it. You don’t worry… will it give him a boo-boo? Sure it looks late, but apparently it was a split second late. By no means a cheap hit. Unneccesary was a good way to put it.

IIRC, Helen Winslow laid out Ryan Clark a few plays earlier. When I saw this, I figured it was retribution by 86.

Classless trash

Heinz Ward plays through the wistle. Ward has always been classy and a real hard hitter. Ths is football and if your not on your toes at all times you might get blasted by this soon to be hall of fame member. If your saying he was celebrating then your ignerant. In the Ravens game last season Ward crushed Ed Reed and raised his hand in the same manner to call someone out to help his victum. You cant hate on someone for playing with heart and a chip on their shoulder.

I thought football was a contact sport?

Its football and if they can’t take hits like this then they shouldn’t be playing. Look how much they are making they all sign contracts and know what they are getting into. Settle it like men.
