No Comments – Come on Guys
I have heard it mentioned more than once that the coaching staff and FO aren't on the same page regarding the oline and its value/performance. Do you think this could be tied to their unwillingness to draft/'sign players to improve it? Because the situtation is baffling. We seem to invest more picks in improve our return game than our oline. Its just not good fundamental football. It is so frustrating to watch our offense struggle like this. I know im just and armchair quarterback but I can't help but feeling the FO/coaches are flat out WRONG in how they are handling the oline.
Couple of comments…excellent job as always…
1) Your take on the O-line is dead-on accurate. I can only hope that Trai Essex will be an upgrade at RG and that Legursky beats out Hartwig. If only Stapleton hadn't gotten hurt…we could have seen a BIG improvement in the line this year…
2) Would love to hear your take on the Carey Davis/Redman/Summers battle. So far from all the "reports" I have read on various Steeler websites, Davis is a "LOCK" due to his special teams play and that allegedly trumps whatever his weakenesses are in running and blocking. I think this is a HUGE mistake on the coaching staff's part. Redman or Summers can't be THAT bad of a difference in downgrading our special teams play can they? My fear is that we will leave points on the field AGAIN this year due to Davis being "inked" in and not giving Redman or Summers a real shot to resolve our short yardage problems.
